Why change?

About 8 years ago, Nokia was the largest mobile maker phone company in the world and you will agree with me at one point in your life, you had a Nokia phone or if not so, two members of your family did. You see Nokia was a household item in many parts of the world but what has happened in the last 8 years in the tech and mobile phone industry saw this giant phone company not just lose market share, but lose its own self! Yea, they got bought out, lock ,stock and barrel! It is possible as I write this piece that Nokia is now only a brand name or product line at Microsoft Inc! More power to Microsoft!

Watching the press conference where the company made the big announcement that they have been acquired and lost to Microsoft  couldn't help get emotional as the teary CEO ended his statement by saying "we didn’t do anything wrong, but somehow, we lost”. 

Lessons from Nokia and why change

Someone said the advantage you had yesterday will be replaced by the trends of tomorrow. Nokia never kept up with the trends of the day in the industry probably because they thought they were too big to be intimidated. The focus in the industry suddenly changed from handset which was their main dish to software . The Android wave hit the industry and instead of navigating through it they avoided it. They didn't do anything wrong but their competition  changed to fast. Sometimes to remain relevant you have to choose to work together or cope or make do with the provision of the day. Had Nokia adopted Android then, 100% sure, the story would be different.

-Change is the only constant thing in life, if you want to be constant in what you do,  you have to change your way of doing it constantly.  

 -Life is about growth, if you want to grow personally, in your studies, business or career you have to be very adaptive to change. 

-The world as it is today is created by the process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking. If you actually enjoy using your mobile phone and it makes things easier for you, someone went out of their way to create it and have ultimately changed your world. This is the kind of people that the world has celebrated and is in dire need of, and if there is something  you do not enjoy, you are not happy about it or you think can be improved, there goes your chance to change the world and make it a better place to live in. Friend, that's the only  way we shall celebrate and honor you and if you are not being celebrated you are possibly being tolerated! 

Be the change you wish to see in the world today who knows in 8 years you could be a world giant, a force to reckon with just like Nokia 8 years ago!

History will be kind to me!

How O'bout some little faith today!

Good morning friends! Today I want to speak to someone who is at a crossroads perplexed or lost or confused or unsure which direction to take! There's a popular Swahili saying that goes....kupotea ndio kujua ( to get lost is to know 😊) right because you get to know a myriad ways that are not the right way, you get to know how not to do something which is a good step towards knowing!

Somebody said in life, its either you are in a problem, or you are just getting out of one, or you are headed into another 😊 ! I 'll let you be the judge. But if you are in this position as the image below, the safest and only way for you is to take the upwards direction. How so? You climb and rise above confusion and doubts by faith! Faith are the wings that will make you fly above any situation and make you stand amidst shaky grounds!

Faith does not make things easy, it makes them possible! It doesn't make sense, that's why it makes miracles! It is like Wi-fi, its invisible but it has the power to connect you to what you need!

IN THE BOARDROOMS OF MY MIND!

First Episode: The Power of thought!

Ever heard something that's being done at the speed of thought? What was it? Yea, you've probably not heard or if you have you cannot give an instance of something that has been done at the speed of thought. Today scientists have been able to move objects like space probes, spacecrafts, rockets into space at the speed of sound, they have been able to collide particles at the speed of light but one kind of speed is a mystery. Our thoughts are the most powerful gifts that we have and actually every civilization, economies, religions, all the systems that dictate how the cosmos is today started as a thought in someone's mind.
This is the only place where success comes before hard work, the only place where you can build sky scrappers in the air and actually rent them out and count the money it gives you , the one place where there are no limits the only place where everything is possible!

Someone asked me this question to what extent have you actually controlled the course your life has taken? Could it be that in my life I have never been able to make an independent move? I did not take myself to school for example someone else did that has influenced my life forever and that's just one area in life.
I read somewhere that a thought builds an action an action builds a behavior, a behavior builds a character and its character that makes a person. It is also possible that the person you are today is but an influence of someone else' thoughts.

Have you build your career in banking, in education, insurance,technology,manufacturing, mining,property name your career . Now imagine a world without that sector. A world without high rise buildings that you wake up to, a world without elaborate roads and vehicles that we hop to as if its nothing! Where would you be in that world and what would you be doing. What would your thoughts be like? Am I taking you back to stone age and medieval ages? Yes I am!

Friends that is the world our forefathers in history lived in but the world of their thoughts, the world in their thoughts is what we have today. They asked themselves these questions and went on to explore,discover,invent and change the world! Jack Ma, the richest man in Asia has built the largest Chinese e-commerce market an area that had not been explored in that part of the world. He is worth 2.2trillion Kenya shillings and whats the Kenyan budget like 2015/2016? No where near one man called Jack Ma! He is a walking economy hats off!!

There is no telling what you could be if you put your thoughts to good use and this is what you can do. Take a thoughtflight back to stone age create the world you want to live in today or, you can take another thoughtflight to the future. What do you envisage the world to look like in 2050, 3000, 24/2/3015, 4015. Who will create these worlds and why not you!! Today put your thoughts together,explore them, discover, change the world!
